An Indian wedding is one of the most difficult ones to plan because they tend to include hundreds of guests. One of the most important part of any wedding in India is the entertainment. The wedding itself takes place under the special mandap canopy and entertainment forms a huge part of this special day. While modern weddings do include wedding speeches and the best man speech today, for most parts these weddings tend to be more traditional.

Planning the Entertainment for the Wedding
It is not necessary for couples to have a very large budget in order to arrange for good entertainment. Traditional desi weddings always have music and dancing and therefore one of the first things that couples should arrange for is the music. For smaller budget weddings couples can arrange for a music player with speakers strategically placed around. However, if you can afford, it would be best to hire a traditional Indian band for the music. You can also have a DJ at the location for the dancing. The music at Pakistani, Punjabi and Gujarati weddings tend to be different so it would be necessary for you to select the right band for the event. There should be a separate dance floor for the guests to dance to the music.

    Alternate Entertainment Options
Alternatively, couples can also plan to include unique entertainment ideas in their wedding. Having fireworks, game shows, magicians or a comedian can often be a great idea to keep the guests entertained during the ceremony. Usually, hiring these professionals does not cost a lot. If possible, you can also hire a specialty dance group to entertain the guests such as a traditional Bhangra dance group or traditional folk dancers to add some glitter, entertainment and excitement to the evening. Celebrity hosts can also be invited if you plan an extravagant wedding.
